Fabello Privacy Policy

Fabello ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered bedtime story app that lets parents create a personal voice profile and listen to stories narrated in their own voice.

This Privacy Policy explains what data Fabello collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

1) Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Fabello mobile application on Android and iOS, published by Beno Studio.

2) Data We Collect

To provide the Fabello experience, we collect the following categories of data:

• Account data: your name, email address, and user identifier provided by your sign-in provider (Google or Apple) when you create an account.
• Voice recording: the audio sample you record inside the app when setting up your voice profile.
• AI voice profile: a digital voice representation generated from your recording and stored on our servers to enable story narration in your voice.
• Generated stories: audio files of stories synthesized using your voice profile, stored on our servers and downloaded to your device for offline playback.
• App settings: your preferences (such as background audio enabled/disabled) stored locally on your device.

3) How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect only to:

• authenticate your account and keep it secure,
• create and store your AI voice profile so stories can be narrated in your voice,
• generate, store, and deliver personalized story audio files,
• sync your voices and generated stories across devices linked to the same account,
• maintain and improve the reliability of the service.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the Fabello service.

4) Voice Data & AI Processing

Your voice is the most personal data Fabello handles. Here is exactly what happens to it:

• Upload: your voice recording is securely uploaded to and stored on Beno Studio's servers.
• AI processing: your voice recording is securely transmitted to Fal.ai, an AI inference platform, for voice profile generation. Fal.ai uses AI models including Qwen (Alibaba Cloud) to analyze and process your recording to create an AI voice profile — a digital representation of your voice used exclusively to narrate stories within Fabello.
• Data retention: Fal.ai does not permanently store your raw voice recording. Your recording is retained only for the duration of the processing request and is discarded after the AI voice profile is generated.
• Storage: your AI voice profile is stored on Beno Studio's servers under your account. The voice profile is not shared with or sold to any third party.
• Deletion: deleting your account from within the app permanently and irreversibly removes your voice recording, your AI voice profile, and all generated stories from our servers. No copies are retained.

5) Third-Party Services

Fabello uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): used solely for account authentication (sign-in with Google or Apple). Firebase receives your sign-in credentials to verify your identity. For Firebase's privacy practices, see firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
• Fal.ai: an AI inference platform used to process your voice recording and generate your AI voice profile. Your voice audio is transmitted to Fal.ai solely for this processing purpose. Fal.ai's privacy practices are governed by their privacy policy at fal.ai/privacy.
• Qwen (Alibaba Cloud): an AI model used within Fal.ai's infrastructure to perform voice generation and analysis. Your data handling when using Qwen is governed by Fal.ai's privacy policy, as Qwen is a service component of Fal.ai's processing infrastructure.

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting tools that share your data externally.

6) On-Device Storage

Fabello stores the following data locally on your device:

• Downloaded story audio: generated story files saved in the app's private storage directory (fabello_audio/) for offline playback. These files are removed if you uninstall the app or delete your account.
• App settings: preferences such as background audio toggle, stored via the platform's standard settings mechanism (NSUserDefaults on iOS, SharedPreferences on Android). No personal data is stored in settings.

7) Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

When you delete your account, all data associated with it — including your voice recording, AI voice profile, and generated stories — is permanently deleted from our servers. This action cannot be undone.

8) Children

Fabello is operated by and for parents and guardians (adults). Story content is designed for children, but accounts are created and managed by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data in violation of applicable law, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9) Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and secure file storage. Voice files are stored under hashed filenames to prevent unauthorized access. No system can guarantee absolute security.

10) Your Rights

You can exercise the following rights at any time:

• Delete your account and all data: open Fabello → Settings (menu) → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data from our servers.
• Access or correction requests: contact us at the email below.

Depending on your jurisdiction, additional rights (such as under GDPR or CCPA) may apply. Contact us to exercise them.

11) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
